In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

Ha, Valentines Day. BBC6 Music mid-morning show kicked off with Mudhoney’s ‘Touch Me, I’m Sick’. That’s the spirit. No cashing in either at this hole-in-the-wall joint round the corner from the studio. Despite appearances, the pasta here is great. Long may it survive.
