In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

Velodrome

Once a month over the winter I head over to the Lee Valley Velodrome with my friend David. Venue for the 2012 Olympic track cycling, it’s a chance to ride the boards in the track tyres of Wiggo, Cav and Kenny. In truth it’s David who’s mad keen, he’s training for a tilt at the world record in his age group for the furthest distance travelled in an hour. David is 86.
