In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

Watching the Tour of Algarve Bike race on Eurposport. Today they head into the hills behind the holiday resorts, a part of the world I’ve been visiting for over 30 years. On location for a Milltag photoshoot last June I spotted this characterful doorway in the atmospheric old town of Loule, happy days.
