In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

Quateira

The resort town of Quateira is a maze of modern beachfront apartment blocks. Despite the jaunty, pastel facades it can’t escape a feeling of soviet-era planned development. The seafront though has been given a make-over, its good to see families and groups out on the esplanade taking the air. If you’re undecided where to take your holidays in 2021 here’s a few suggestions.
