In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

Balaro

The Balaro market in Palermo is one of the worlds great street markets. It was a little sad when I visited back in August but I hope it will be back to it’s crazy, chaotic best before too long. I shot this in April 2019 on my first visit to the city, I’d just complete a 1200km bike ride through Sardinia and Sicily, documented here. Riding those distances seems pretty crazy now, that ‘old normal’ seems like a distant memory.
