In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

I took this photo in Muscat back in February 2019 last year to send back to my cycling group, the PBCC (Plastic Bertrand Cycling Club) whilst they were shivering over their mid-ride coffee. Truth is, the PBCC would never be out in February, it’s a strictly fair weather, tailwinds-only kind of club. It’s set fair now so a few of us are heading out each Sunday and a jolly affair it is, a little release from the current realities. Ça plane pour moi.
