In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

There is an old Inuit saying ‘Wherever you are, you’re there’. I spent the day listening to the football and rugby on the radio whilst waxing a wooden floor but a little bit of me was back in Palermo in Sicily where I spotted this old poster back in April 2019.
