In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

I remember cycling around the country in 2016 in the weeks prior to the Brexit referendum and for the first time being confronted with the level of leave support, a bit of a shock for us liberal metropolitan types. Well, they got what they wanted and the flags were out today in Little Missenden to celebrate.
