Last night’s ‘A Tale of Two Cities with Dan Cruikshank’ featured the 17th century old Hugenot weavers houses in Spitalfields, a short walk from the studio. A fascinating area in the midst of major redevelopment, this is the front door of no 18, Denis Severs house, a museum and ‘still-life drama’, famous for its recreation every December of a typical Georgian Christmas.
