In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

And so the long Easter weekend comes to a close - today the weather changed, still sunny but with a cold Northerly wind. Still, it’s felt like a Summer holiday, maybe even the one we could be denied this year. With plans for trips to Ireland and Italy already cancelled, and for Japan in July now likely to follow, a time to remember last year’s trip to Montenegro and an evening’s Pivo overlooking Lake Zardar.
