In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

Mitre

Back to last Thursday night and an evening of wanderings through an almost deserted Clerkenwell. A few venues were open but it felt like a ghost town. Next week the schools go back and employees are being encouraged to return to the office and support city centre economies. The Mitre is one of the oldest pubs in London, it’s survived The Plague, The Great Fire and two World Wars but will CoVid finally kill it off?
