Hope

Living on a houseboat seems quite idyllic right now - I nearly bought one here back in the year 2000. I was all set to use it as my new studio but when I returned to seal the deal with the owner there was no sign of the boat. When I finally contacted him he told me he’d taken it out for once last cruise and managed to hole it, rendering it no longer serviceable for living or boating. Probably a lucky escape, a narrowboat can seem like an attractive proposition on a warm summers evening, not so much in a freezing, howling gale in winter.
