In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

Ghosts

I took the plunge today and finally booked some flight for a trip back to Palermo in August. One of my favourite places, i’m gambling on it being open for business by then. Wandering round the city on my last visit I found this abandoned market hall, just a skeleton left of the old ceiling. Ghosts of the past lie everywhere in Sicily but what of it’s future?
