In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

It’s Sunday morning but instead of cycling around the hills of Surrey I’m in Riyadh on cycling-related business. It’s an odd place, i was on my way to the National museum to find out a little more about the place when I spotted this chap. It’s fair to say cycling mania has yet to hit Saudi Arabia.
