In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

Another week begins, presumably much like the previous ones. One of the undoubted highlights of the lockdown age has been Grayson Perrys Art Club on C4, a joyous, infectious weekly celebration of creative expression. Last Week Graysons wife made a piece of pottery inspired by her own guilty pleasure, the TV show ‘A Place In The Sun’. Nothing wrong with a bit of harmless escapism, who doesn’t dream of a modest Cabinita somewhere, anywhere to escape to from time to time.
