In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

Brighton

An early start for my Sunday saw me arriving in Brighton at 10am. I’ve mentioned before of my appreciation of the Beach City but i’ve never been quite convinced by Brighton’s claim, regarding it (like many Londoners) as nothing more than a large seaside town. That said, it was as pretty as a picture in the mid-morning sunshine and the short stretch by the deckchair sellers is a quaint throwback to it’s seafaring days.
