In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

The future is unwritten but the past is present if you know where to look in Palermo. Sometimes fate intervenes, an alleyway in Vucceria - a car rolls by, stops, then reverses back into the frame. There are no other cars or people around, a scene from 50 years ago, unchanged.
