Tip
There was a time when a trip to the tip was a 20 minute affair on a Sunday afternoon, barely a punctuation mark in the the days activity. Not any more, it’s a venue that requires careful planning and military-like precision if one is to avoid a 2 hour+ wait. Having initially gone for an early-bird slot, arriving before opening only to wait for an hour in a stationary queue, my more recent strategy has been to strike late. A poor strategic move resulting in two failures even to make it to the gates before closing. So today, a lunchtime raid in the rain and only an hour and half roundtrip - what the government might call an astonishing success.
