In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

Meridian

I’m signing off with a favourite view and a dash of optimism for the coming year. Looking north along the meridian line, from the Royal Observatory towards the Naval College, the River Thames and Canary Wharf in the background, each element is neatly outlined.

I finished the year working on a new photographic book inspired by walks along the length of the river Thames. The simple pleasure of local journeys, either on foot or by bike is one of the joys rediscovered these past few months - stay sane out there. Cheers, Santé & Slàinte to all.
