In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

Back on Brick Lane for a company meeting, the weather is a little different to my last visit during the June heatwave. Eastern Eye is a curry house, a throwback to the time when the only reason to visit the area was for a cheap Bangladeshi meal. The damp, grey light lends a little more definition to the clutter of signage and messages demanding your attention.
