In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

I guess no consideration of cities would be complete without including New York, for many the ultimate metropolis. I haven’t been since 2013 but found this shot taken from the hi-line nestling in the archives. A reasonable composition of urban and landscaped environments, wide streets and even a few yellow taxis but the main focus is on the giant yellow sign in the foreground. It’a all about attitude, dude.
