In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

Mucem

Another black building, but this time the rather wonderful Mucem in Marseilles - a  Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations. The setting is stunning, jutting out of the old port on a pier connected by a slim elevated walkway. The main building is clad entirely in a black steel lattice, this is a view looking down one of the external gantries.
