In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

A Milltag social event takes me to Hackney Wick this evening. It was pretty much 8 years to the day when London 2012 launched, 3 weeks when everything was suddenly all right and London shone on the global stage. It’s a beautiful evening and something of the old magic and energy is returning to the old city. Opposite Crate Brewery I spotted this intriguing set-up - it’s an East London thing.
