In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

The past two Sundays had seen me confined to the Wattbike but a decent weather window today meant no more excuses. With a 600km event in Italy looming I needed to get some decent miles in the legs. A bright day but with a cold, gusting wind would mean i’d earn every mile but now its over I can reflect on a good day out. I didn’t really stop to take many photos and in truth this snap of the lovely Chilterns village of Latimer lacks any real focus but that’s all i have for today.
