Fort

A google calendar alert popped up this morning reminding me I was due to fly to Cork today for my brother-in-laws 50th birthday, the first of a few now-cancelled, or at least postponed trips. I’ve been travelling back to Ireland a lot more in recent years, always good for the soul and to reconnect with place I spent a significant part of my youth. This photo was taken on a beautiful, late Autumn day last October, of James Fort near Kinsale. It was originally shot in landscaped but I prefer this crop to emphasise the regularity / tension between the mass of tangled bushes below the fort and then the sky.
