In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

Back home but only just. Yesterday the Italian authorities closed down much of Northern Italy, including Milan and Venice. Thankfully Aosta Valley remained unaffected by the lock-down but the resort was eerily quiet and all but empty by mid-afternoon. Heres a photo of the main valley, spot the skiers.
