In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

Last day in London this week, off to the mountains tomorrow to the land of quality pasta and decent, strong coffee. The Coronovirus outbreak has dominated news this past week, and Italy is particularly badly affected. Thankfully Cervinia is virus-free and open for business. For my parting lunch, where better than Daily Dose, an Indian street food outlet at the back of a newsagents on Gt Eastern St.
