In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

Last night I watch the confounding, baffling ‘I’m thinking of Ending Things’. The first film for a long time that had me scurrying to the internet for an explainer, it put me in mind of this rather creepy photo I took back in December 2012, in deepest Slovakia.
