In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

Annecy

Today last year I was holidaying in the French Alps. The day began with a morning ride over the Col de Thamie to Albertville before retuning via lake Annecy - sublime. We had to leave for home later that day, just in time to stop in Annecy itself for a leisurely lunch. When it comes to lakeshore cities, I doubt there a many finer.
