In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

The first snowfall in the UK coincides with news today that all ski resorts in Europe will be shut until the middle of January, except in Switzerland. I won’t be heading to the slopes anytime soon but if I could, the Mont Fort terrace in Verbier would be top of the list. March 2019.
